Many European riders are familiar with the concept of D-riding. When riding in a large tour group and either a right- or left-hand turn is approaching, not everyone can always see the tour leader ahead to know what is coming up. This is where the D-riding system comes in and reduce the chances of someone getting lost. It simply means that once the tour leader has made the turn, the rider directly behind the tour leader pulls over and stop immediately after he/she made the turn. This motorcycle must then wait for the rest of the group to pass and he/she then falls in at the back of the group. The pattern repeats itself every time there’s a turn to make sure no one misses it. We’ll discuss this in more detail when the ride sets off. Important to note is that all riders in a group must know how many motorcycles are in the group and who is riding at the back.
