This is Africa (TIA) and riding conditions are, well slightly different to what you might be used back at home. You will face hazards and situations that might be different from what you are used to back home. When we see a pothole or dangerous object in the road and we want the riders behind us to avoid it, then (and only then) we as riders use a dangling foot to point to the problem. This will indicate to the rider behind that there is a potential hazard and give the rider behind a chance to take evasive action. While enjoying the scenery, continuously scan the road and be on the lookout for possible dangers and communicate them to those behind you. Remember: most riders understand foot language, but motorists don’t!
