What about stray animals?

When encountering animals on or next to the road – avoid them!  The practice is to switch on your hazard lights to warn other riders of the danger. We also suggest that you reduce speed and give these animals a wide berth, as they are rather unpredictable – but at the same time make sure it’s safe to go out wide before doing so. Most stray domestic animals in the rural areas are streetwise and will try to stay out of our way. Sheep, on the other hand, are immensely stupid, and cattle … well, they’re somewhere between the stupider sheep and the more intelligent goats.
