if you drop the bike or you are involved in an accident and there is minor damage to the bike and repair work is needed, a quotation will be prepared. To covering the costs of the repair-work your security deposit or a part of it, will be deducted to cover the cost. Although the rental includes comprehensive insurance, the rider will still be liable for the excess payment which is normally equal to the security deposit. In the case of major damage an insurance claim needs to be made which will result in the rider forfeiting the entire security deposit. This is to cover the standard insurance excess payment payable as part of the claim. If the damage is minor and it costs less than the security payment to repair, then it will be recovered from the client directly and no insurance claim will be made from the rental company’s insurer.
