The most important rule of the road in South Africa is that we drive on the left. On dual carriageways we always keep in the left lane and pass slower-moving traffic on the right, after which we move back to the left again. Road users in South Africa, as elsewhere on the planet, know this to be the golden rule, but often forget to apply it. The general rule thus – “keep left pass right”!
