The BMW R1200GS Adventure touring motorcycle is a dual-sport motorcycle, and by far the most popular in the BMW stable. It allows long-range touring with both on-road and off-road capabilities, and has a high ground clearance (for off-road purposes), large fuel capacity, under-stressed engines for high reliability.

BMW Motorrad is the motorcycle brand of the German company BMW. The company began as an aircraft engine manufacturer in the early 20th century, with their first motorcycle, the R32, launched in 1923. BMW Motorrad still uses the flat-twin boxer configuration of those early models, but now offer a variety of engine configurations. The most popular models are the R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure.
